Co-Pay Will Be the Death of Us

For the first few years of my walk as a believer, I really shouldn't use the word walk, as my physical health was not very stable at all.  I attempted the complementary approach to health.  I was going to trust G-d, use herbs and supplements, and mainstream medicine, only in an emergency.  Fortunately, my husband at the time was very supportive, even though he had amazing insurance coverage.  It only took a couple of serious MS exacerbations to realize the flaw in my theology.

And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to YHWH, but to the physicians.  And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.  II Chronicles 16:12-13

The account of King Asa brought serious light to the fact, our Creator doesn't have to work in tandem with any modern mainstream method.  According to His Word, He did create herbs for our service and oils, but He can heal without those as well.  For me to have trusted my "emergency condition" to the wisdom of man was outright rebellion.  With my husband's great insurance plan, hospital coverage was amazing, the co-pay was $5.00 for a 90 day supply, while natural supplements and herbs, were of course, not covered at all.  The first month of supplements was more expensive than our deductible and copay.  The expense went down of course, but it was never less than the copay for pharmaceuticals.

Upon leaving mainstream medicine, once and for all, the initial cost of natural health seemed astronomical!  In time, however; my body began to strengthen.  I'm not healed of MS, but it's been over 12 years ago that I parked my wheelchair and nearly a decade since I began homesteading.  What I also noticed, is the fact that I take fewer supplements and have less need of herbal remedies as my body has strengthened, the water I drink is untreated, and my diet is organic.  Once I stopped putting chemicals into my body, my health improved.  I have no idea what mainstream medicine would cost now, to compare.

Many folks are now even taking prescriptions to counteract side effects of other prescriptions, but still see the co-pay as more economical than paying the full price of natural remedies.  It may be more economical for the pocketbook right now, but the price will be high over long term health.  The health care industry isn't going to give up their cash cow, regardless of the danger to the people.

Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries . . .
